Chasing the century’s longest Total Eclipse to Asia during the Monsoon season is risky business. Thousands of chasers across the region of totality were clouded out, while it poured rain on thousands more in Shanghai. But in the little village of Moganshan – nestled on a hill in a bamboo forest – I saw one of the most mysterious sights I have ever seen: the sky swallowing the eclipse with layer upon layer of mist. Darkest eclipse I have ever seen – and one of the coolest experiences ever.
